I've been a coffee drinker for longer than I've been an adult, and I've gone through many coffee phases. First was the Starbucks frappuccino, then to the foldgers coffee with whatever creamer to make it through the day Freshman year, then I started weaning off the creamer and found out the quality coffee makes all the difference. Enter chemex, french press, pour over, and locally roasted beans ground fresh daily. Truly, I know how to appreciate a well brewed cup of coffee. A few years ago, I inherited a nespresso machine from a relative and honestly it reminded me of my trip to France and it took so much less time than the aforementioned methods for a pretty solid cup of coffee.

Most days, I make an "americano." One (or two depending on the day) pods with equal parts boiling water. I recently upgraded from my inherited machine, and got the Nespresso Creatista, and I've been experimenting with the different lattes I can make from home that are healthy-ish and taste amazing. Oh, and p.s. if you're a nespresso user already - I get my pods from Gourmesso. They are much cheaper, and great quality. I love some of their flavored options likes almond and biscotti. You can use my referral link to get a discount on your first order.

If you don't have a nespresso, you can get a milk frothing wand for super cheap (like this one). Just substitute 1 cup of coffee for the nespresso pod, and reduce the milk down to 1/4 cup.

1) Using flavored extracts is my favorite way to add some flavor to my coffee without using syrups. I love the almond flavor in this one.

1 nespresso pod
1/2 c. almond milk
1/4 tsp almond extract
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
a tiny bit of honey for sweetness as needed

2) This is my version of a less sweet caramel macchiato at home (my starbucks go to). The tiny bit of creamer makes the almond milk froth so much better as well and makes it super creamy.

1 nespresso pod
1/2 c. almond milk
1 tsp. caramel macchiato creamer

3) Think of this as a cinnamond dolce latte. I am obsessed with cinnamon in my coffee, and especially love this as the weather cools down.

1 nespresso pod
1/2 c. almond milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
approximately 1/4 tsp of cinnamon sprinkled on top
